I have loved you, with every part,
I have loved you, all night long,
I have loved you, with all my heart,
I have loved you, in every single song.
In the unrequited love of life and death,
Shamelessly, I have daydreamed about us.
I have loved you, with every intake of breath,
I have hoped, with all I had for an “us” to take place.
I put you up on a pedestal, sweetheart,
My sign from God, I thought you were,
My home in this unknown land, my other part,
My constant in this world filled with maybe’s.
But now, you are missing, you are long gone,
I have lost you in this hustle, in this rat race,
I am healing, slowly, now that you are gone,
I am a new person now, standing with grace.
I had fallen in love with you,
Being broken was a part of the package,
I was helping you, slowly reducing the baggage,
Healing your broken heart, in turn hurting mine.
Thank you, for coming into my life,
And thank you for leaving, with the blink of an eye.
Thank you for making me realize,
Good things and happy souls are a blatant lie, a disguise.
