KFC’s Add Hope Campaign – One Year Anniversary Celeberations

The hot humid days had been going by in a blur when out of the blue an email from Blogchatter popped in my inbox. And before I knew it, I was heading to my first blogging event. Blogchatter is the official Blogging & Social Media partner for KFC’s Add Hope Campaign in India. I was invited to represent Blogchatter along with three incredible bloggers. Add HOPE is an anti-hunger initiative by KFC and it aims to provide twenty million meals to underprivileged children by 2020. Add HOPE launched in India in May 2016 and this month marks its one year anniversary. They have partnered with prestigious organizations like the Smile Foundation, India FoodBanking Network (IFBN), etc.

Add Rs. 5/- to your bill.

The event began with Bollywood actress Tanishaa Mukherji joining in the celebrations with children from Towards Future School, where KFC through Smile Foundation has been supporting a meal program for 75 children. There was an interesting question and answer round which was filled with wisdom. And one thing that stuck with me is this Mother Teresa quote which goes something like “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one.” This rings true because tiny drops of water make an ocean and if we all do our part we can make a bigger impact.

Currently, KFC along with its trusted partners, has feeding sites across 51 locations in 16 cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Guwahati, Jharkhand, Pune, Noida, Lucknow, Vishakhapatnam, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, and Coimbatore. Add Hope has fed 10,300+ children across the country and more than 33 lakhs meals till now. They aim to give undernourished children access to nutritious and well-balanced meals in order to grow and become their best selves.

Nourishment is crucial for a child’s wellbeing. It contributes to all aspects of life and thus is essential. A well-balanced meal will not only keep the child we fed but also give him the energy required to concentrate on his studies. A healthy body is a sign of a healthy mind. And the Add Hope campaign aims at accomplishing it. If we all put in the effort then we can face this issue head on.

I feel extremely privileged to be able to witness the ongoings behind such an important cause. And I got to experience and learn a lot of new things along with my team. They taught me a lot of ins and outs and they made this experience magical. A huge shout out to  Eshita  di, Anupriya di and Anindya  sir for being the best team. Go follow them all, now.

Also, don’t forget to add Rs. 5/- to your KFC bill every time you’re at KFC, which will go towards fighting hunger and feeding the undernourished children. That’s all you have to do. Or you can even do it online, just click on this link. And you can read more about the add Hope campaign by reading this Blogchatter post.
